ROBBINSVILLE, NJ -- Robbinsville Township, in conjunction with the West Windsor Department of Health that serves the community, is holding a flu shot clinic for senior citizen residents. The flu clinic is being held in partnership with Wegman's Pharmacy to offer vaccines for the 2020 flu season.
The flu clinic will be held on Thursday, October 1 between 2:00pm and 4:00 pm in the rear parking lot of the Robbinsville Township Senior Center located at 1117 Route 130, Robbinsville. Preregistration is required by calling (609) 259-1567.
This year, the clinic will be held as a drive-thru. Participants will need to stay in their vehicles and wear a face mask; they are encouraged to wear short sleeved or loose-fitting clothing. In addition, patients will need to bring a copy of their insurance card or Medicaid card and a form of identification. Vouchers are available for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. Patients will need to fill out two copies of the consent form that can br printed HERE.
Residents over the age of 65 will have the option of choosing a "high dose vaccine."
After receiving the vaccine, patients will be directed to pull their car into a designated space and relax in the car for 15 minutes to ensure that they do not have a reaction to the vaccine before they leave.
On Thursday, during a Facebook Live conversation with Governor Phil Murphy, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, urged residents to get a flu vaccine.
