PRINCETON, NJ -- After a weeklong investigation conducted by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced the arrest of one man and the seizure of a sizeable amount of marijuana and cash. Onofri stated that task force officers executed a search warrant at the Princeton residence of Ziheem Bridgeforth on Wednesday.
Mercer County Prosecutor’s Sergeant Joe Angarone worked with his K9 partner Bela to conduct an interior “sniff” of the dwelling. Bela gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics in Bridgeforth’s bedroom, as well as drug paraphernalia throughout the residence, the report read. Officers are said to have discovered approximately 150 grams of marijuana valued at approximately $1,500. Cash totaling $244 also was seized as proceeds from narcotics distribution.
Bridgeforth, 20, was charged with second-degree narcotics offenses, including distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within a public housing facility since his Clay Street residence is owned by the Princeton Housing Authority.
Bridgeforth was released pending future court appearances.
Under the command of the prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit, the investigation was undertaken by officers from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ewing, Hamilton, Princeton and Trenton police departments.
