HAMILTON, NJ -- As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grip the nation, Hamilton Township announced on Friday that two popular community events will not be happening this year -- National Night Out and Oktoberfest.
Hamilton Township noted that Oktoberfest, which was to be held on October 18 is canceled "out of an abundance of caution." The festival celebrates the community organizations and well as popular shopping vendors.
The National Night Out campaign recently recommended that the event, normally held in August, be pushed to October. The Hamilton Township Police Department has opted, however, to forego the event for the year.
The annual community-building event promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
Robbinsville Township announced that they will move their Nationa Night Out event to October 6.
