ROBBINSVILLE, NJ -- The Levering family have been residents of Robbinsville Township for decades, but now, with their Randolf Drive home destroyed by fire, they are learning the true meaning of community.

On Tuesday evening around 8:00pm, the Robbinsville Township Police were dispatched to the home that was already full of flames. Given the intensity of the two-alarm fire, mutual aid fire departments from Hamilton Township, Hope Fire Company of Allentown, East Windsor Fire Company, Hightstown Fire Company, and West Windsor Fire Company assisted in bringing the fire under control.

The Levering family -- parents Bill and Gael Levering as well as their four daughters Nicole, Courtney, Christine, and Jackie -- are all safe but devastated after their dog died in the fire, and they have lost almost everything. They are not yet able to get into the basement to see if any family keepsakes are still there.

When asked what the community could do for the family, Gael told TAPinto that the family is looking for a home to rent in Robbinsville as they want to stay in the community, they have lived in for decades. She was able to save her engagement ring and a couple family jewelry pieces. But, Gael is looking for someone with expertise in jewelry to possibly "unmeld" some items burned in the fire.

They will temporarily be staying in a nearby residential hotel. The family made a quick trip to the store for a change of clothes and toiletries, but even their basic daily necessities are gone.

The Robbinsville High School Health and Physical Education Department, where daughter Christine currently teaches and coaches, created a Go Fund Me page to help the family replace essential items.   In less than 24 hours after the fire, the community had already donated almost $75,000 to support the family. Donations of all denomiations are appreciated.

The fire is still under investigation by the Robbinsville Township Fire Marshal’s Office and Robbinsville Township Police Department.
