HAMILTON, NJ- Mayor Kelly Yaede declared war on Tuesday when a mailer distributed by her campaign called her opponent’s military service into question.

Firing back immediately to the attack in which the incumbent criticized Democratic candidate Jeff Martin for “defending convicted rapists,” the former Air Force attorney said in a statement that not only was he following orders as any “soldier, sailer, Marine, Coast Guardsmen, or Airmen” would, he was also defending the US Constitution.

The case in question, Martin told TAPinto Hamilton/Robbinsville, was one he served on six years ago.

Yaede’s attack, he said, is an attack against “the very essence of what being an American, and serviceman, is about.”

“With her despicable flyer (Yaede) had proven once again that she is unfit for public  service,” Martin said before sharing his belief that the Republican mayor should apologize to sexual assault victims as well as military personnel.
