HAMILTON, NJ -- The Hamilton Area YMCA is partnering with the American Red Cross to hold an emergency blood drive to help tackle a blood shortage. The donation drive, scheduled for Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., will help "replenish our local blood supply for patients in need," Red Cross said in a statement.
Denise Wyers, spokesperson for the Hamilton Area YMCA, assured the public that they "are working closely with the American Red Cross to ensure that all the proper safety protocols are in place, including the highest standard of cleanliness, social distancing, and fever screening."
The Community Blood Drive will be held at the YMCA JKR branch located at 1315 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road in Hamilton. Participants should use the building entrance through the Kids Gymnasium door on the left side of the building next to Penn Medicine Princeton Health.
Donors are asked to be sure to eat a healthy breakfast and drink a lot of fluids before donating and need to bring picture identification with them.
