TRENTON, NJ -- Led by the Mercer County Park Commission Rangers, with full support of County Executive Brian M. Hughes and Parks Executive Director Aaron T. Watson, the annual Mercer County Toys for Tots campaign recently wrapped up following a year when the pandemic has caused distress for so many families. The annual program collected toys for children of all age groups were collected at various Mercer County offices and facilities.

The donated toys were picked up by the United States Marine Corps, who will present them to children in time for the holidays.

“Our County employees and local residents pitched in to help those who might be struggling a bit more this year, and our annual holiday toy drive is one way to spread cheer and put a smile on a child’s face,” said Hughes.

In addition to stuffed animals, books, backpacks, electronics, games, dolls and sports equipment, this year, children’s book author Patricia Saxton graciously donated more than 700 "The Book of Mermaids" magnetic dress-up sets, which will be warmly received.

Mercer County thanked everyone who donated to support the County's community outreach and charitable initiatives and helped make a child’s holiday more special.
