ROBBINSVILLE, NJ -- Scores of area residents came out on a sunny fall afternoon on Sunday to swing the bat, play cornhole, listen to live music, and enjoy lunch while commemorating the life of Joe Barker by raising money for cancer research.

The "Hit one for Joe Barker" fundraiser was in honor of the beloved former Robbinsville recreation director Joe Barker who passed away in 2018 after battling cancer.   Joe was widely-known throughout the community for his role in creating and operating youth summer camps, sports leagues, the annual Community Day festival and much more.

Approximately 60 batters participated in the home run derby while numerous others played in the cornhole tournament at Robbinsville's Tatum Park on the Joe Barker Memorial Field.
