ROBBINSVILLE, NJ --  One year after officially becoming the owner of the 158-acre Miry Run property located on Sharon Road, Robbinsville Township Mayor David Fried will host a town hall meeting on Tuesday night to present options under consideration and take public input on the potential use of the site. The Township purchased the property in March 2019 for approximately $1.34 million "for passive recreation and be added to the Township's considerable open space inventory, thus furthering the goals set forth in the Township Master Plan."

Speaking with TAPinto Hamilton/Robbinsville, Fried said that the Township has already engaged focus groups to discuss potential uses. Ideas raised by these community groups -- including recreation camps, day camps, soccer-golf, picnic pavilions, and ultimate Frisbee -- will be discussed at the forum.   The Mayor said the Town Hall will give the community an additional opportunity for input.

"We are looking to hear from residents what they like; what they don't like; and what their needs are," said Fried.  "We are also being sensitive to the local neighbors who have lived in the area so that there is the least impact on them.

"There also has been some interest in summer camps on the property as well as reinventing the pool or rehabilitating some of the golf course holes," added Fried who noted that a basketball center will be the Township's first indoor recreational facility and will be located on the parking lot near the existing buildings and infrastructure.

The Robbinsville Recreation department offices also are slated to relocate to the property to be closer in proximity to these activities.

The Miry Run Town Hall will be held Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 pm at the Robbinsville Senior Community Center located at 1117 Route 130 in Robbinsville.
