BORDENTOWN, NJ -- The Bordentown Township Police Department (BTPD) announced the arrest of a couple accused of theft and possession of a large cache of narcotics at the Candlewood Suites in Bordentown.
At approximately 5:22 p.m.Thursday, Bordentown police officers responded to the hotel after cash was reportedly stolen after a guest accidentally left his wallet on the front desk. According to the BTPD, Nicholas Gresko, Hamilton, allegedly removed $210 from the wallet before returning it to the front desk clerk.
At the hotel scene, officers spoke with Gresko's girlfriend, Sara Hartz, 32, Bordentown City and are said to have recovered the stolen $210 from her purse before returning it to the victim who chose not to pursue a criminal complaint against the couple.
However, during the course of this investigation, responding officers observed the presence of narcotics within Hartz’s vehicle -- a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. A vehicle search was conducted resulting in the recovery of approximately nine ounces of marijuana, seven THC vape cartridges, 98 pills suspected to be xanax, 10 pills of suspected clonazepam, 30 pills of suspected gabapentin, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
Police also seized $654.00 in cash from Hartz which will be held pending a forfeiture action.
Both Gresko and Hartz were placed under arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, multiple counts of narcotics possession and possession of drug paraphernalia on summons complaints and released.
