TRENTON, NJ -- Sheriff Jack Kemler announced on Wednesday the release of a newly updated mobile app for the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. The interactive app is designed to provide real-time information at the public's fingertips on their smartphones or tablets.
News and emergency alerts, senior citizen program information, general services to the public, Sheriff’s sale information, crime tips, airport information, and the popular Mercer’s Most Wanted list will be readily accessible through the app.
“The newly upgraded Sheriff’s App is easy-to-use and designed to better serve, inform, and protect county residents,” said Kemler. “Please take a moment to download the free app to your phone or tablet - then share it with your family, friends, and neighbors so that they too can receive our important news and alerts,”
The Sheriff’s app also includes important resources on COVID-19 from the CDC, links to traffic information, program offerings, as well as a “Submit a Tip” feature that allows users to confidentially report crime tips directly to the Sheriff’s Office.
Another key upgrade is the addition of an interactive map of Mercer County sex offenders. Users can simply pinpoint a neighborhood for the locations and the identities of offenders.
The app’s newest release is a major upgrade from the original Sheriff’s App introduced in 2016. The upgraded app was redesigned over the summer months by Sheriff’s Office staff along with The Sheriffs App/OCV, which specializes in mobile app development for public safety departments.
The free app is available via Apple and Android app stores. For those who already have the app, the newest version conveniently updates on their phones or tablets automatically.
