HAMILTON, NJ --  A Sunday morning emergency call that went out originally as an activated fire alarm rapidly escalated, TAPinto Hamilton has learned.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found fire coming from an apartment on the third floor of the high rise building located at 9 Lamont Avenue in Hamilton.

Hamilton Fire Department Engine 14 was first on the scene and later accompanied by Engines 18, 15, 16, 19, Squad 12, Tower 17 and Truck 13.  The fast-acting multiple unit response was able to contain the fire to the original apartment unit where it started.
