HAMILTON, NJ -- Members of the Hamilton Township Fire Department responded to two residential fires on Sunday, both caused by improperly discarded ashes from fire pits, according to a fire official familiar with both incidents.  

The first fire at a home on Edinburg Road caused damage to the back of the house while a backyard shed was destroyed in the blaze on Magnolia Lane. 

Fire Squad 12, Engine 14, and Truck 17 responded to the call on Edinburg Road.  Hamilton Engines 18, 19, 16, 15 and Trucks 13 handled the Magnolia Lane call.

No injuries were reported at either incident.
