THOROFARE, NJ -- The Robbinsville softball 10U team is headed to the state championship finals Sunday after battling three teams in less than 24 hours in mostly in triple digit temperatures.  

In round one of the state tournament tournament on Friday, the team, depsite solid performances from several players, including a double by Maura Halpin that brough Lexi Lopez across the plate, two hits by Gabby Sabol, and four solidly pitched innings by Lopez, fell to Swedesboro-Woolwich 3-1.

Led by perfect games at the plate by Hayden Bustos, as well as Halpin, Sabol, and Shoenfelt, Pequanock proved to be no match for the Robbinsville players who bested their second round oppenents 16-3 Saturday morning.

With only a few hours to recharge the team were back on the diamond Saturday afternoon where thety took on, and defeated, Ridgefield by a score of 12 to 2. Outstanding pitching by Lopez and Shoenfelt, and a solid overall performance by Katie Murphy, both in the field and at the plate, set Robbinsville up for their Sunday matchup in the championshop game against Swedesboro.

First pitch is at 11:00 a.m.
