Sparta Police: Sparta Man Stopped for Speeding Gets Drug Charge

SPARTA,  NJ – A Sparta man is facing drug charges after getting stopped for speeding on Route 15.  On August 9 around midnight, Sparta Police Officer Thomas Herd stopped Jordan Proctor, 20 in a white Volvo SUV for going 78 MPH in a 55 MPH and driving in the left lane, police report.

Sparta Police Hold Child Safety Seat Inspection

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Police Department partnered with the Safe Kids Worldwide, Hilltop Country Day School and the Fraser Law Fire to offer a child safety seat inspection program.  In the parking lot of the Hilltop school, in the heat and humidity the officers checked a several seats and discussed child safety with parents, according to Cpl. Franklin Police: Former Newton Man Caught Trying to Cash Friend's Stolen Check

FRANKLIN, NJ – A former Newton resident was picked up on charges of theft after trying to deposit a check that had already been deposited.  According to Franklin Borough police, Terry Baughman, 27, took a check from a friend’s home in East Stroudburg, Pennsylvania and tried to deposit it into the Chase Bank in Franklin.
