Sparta High School Softball Crushes Garfield in NJSIAA Section 1 Group 3 First Round

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School girls softball had an early finish in the first round of the NJSIAA North Section 1 Group 3 tournament early defeating Garfield 10-0 in the fifth inning. 

Paige Smith worked both sides of the plate to contribute to the win. Smith pitched a no hitter, five inning shut-out and went 3-for-3, scoring twice with two RBIs.

Sparta High School Boys Lacrosse Beats Jefferson in NJSIAA North Jersey Group 2 Quarterfinals

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School boys lacrosse moves to the semifinal round of the NJSIAA North Group 2 tournament after taking down Jefferson 10-4 on Saturday.  Playing at home Sparta’s coach Tyler Meth said possession was a key factor in the win.

Sparta Baseball Drops One to Pope John

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School baseball lost to Pope John 3-1 on Friday.  The game was a 0-0 tie into the seventh.

Matt Sigillo was the only Spartan to cross the plate with a solo homerun in the bottom of the seventh.

Sigillo’s homer came after Pope John’s Kevin Putsky hit a three run home run at the top of the seventh.

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School boys lacrosse dominated Lakeland 22-2 in the first round of the NJSIAA Group 2 tournament game.  Playing on the turf field at Station Park Sparta held Lakeland to zero through the first three quarters.

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Softball earned another shutout against Jefferson 3-0 on Monday.  It was a one-hitter for Paige Smith.  She pitched the entire game giving up only one walk, striking out 190.

ANNADALE, NJ – Sparta High School girls lacrosse finished on top of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament beating out number one seed Hunterdon Central 14-11 on Saturday a North Hunterdon High School.

Sparta Softball Earns Another Shutout Over Morris Hills

SPARTA, NJ – The game ended early on Wednesday when Sparta High School softball defeated Morris Hills 10-0. This makes it five shutouts for Sparta, including the last three games.

Paige Smith gave up only three hits, going 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School boys golf team beat Hackettstown on Wednesday 174-180.  They played on the Tiger’s home course at Panther Valley in Allamuchy.

Sparta Girls LAX Crushes Pope John in Quarterfinal H/W/S Tournament

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School girls lacrosse defeated Pope John 24-10 in the quarterfinal round of the tri-county tournament on Tuesday, on the turf at Station Park.  Kaitlin Mead and Brianna Falco each put five in the net for Sparta.
