WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - Over 30 Wood-Ridge youth soccer players tested their skills Friday night at the second annual Soccer Challenge hosted by the Knights of Columbus Saint Anthony Council 11585 of Wood-Ridge.
The challenge is open to all kids from nine to 14 years old, and consists of shooting penalty shots from either the 10-yard line for 9-to-11-year-olds or the 12-yard line for 12-to-14-year-olds. The cool and breezy evening didn't deter the 32 young athletes from participating.

Event coordinator Ben Walsh congratulated "this year's winners and to all those who competed for making this event so much fun for me and all the volunteers that help put it on."
The next round is the District Challenge to be held on October 9 at 8pm at Donna Ricker Field.
