All-NJIC Indoor Track Team


As part of our launch during August, TAPinto Hasbrouck Heights/Wood-Ridge/Teterboro, will look back at newsworthy events that happened earlier in 2017 that did not get coverage. 

SECAUCUS, NJ -  Long-jumper Natalie Romano of Wood-Ridge and triple-jumper Monika Lucic of Hasbrouck Heights were named to the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Girl’s Indoor Track Team. Hasbrouck  Heights was the NJIC champs, and head coach Rob Brady was named Coach of the Year.  

Lucic was honored with an All-NJIC Second Team nod in the high jump. She was joined on the second team by teammates Kaylie Thomas in the 55 meters and Victoria Vizzahechero in the shot put.  The 4 x 400-meter relay team was also awarded second team honors.

Lucic was given an honorable mention for the 800 meters, while Anna Tsapelis was named honorable mention in the shot put.

Pole vaulter Jesse Danz of Hasbrouck Heights was named second team All-NJIC.   Teammates Maliki Burrell (55 meters) and Joe Terreri (1,600 meters) were joined by the 4x 400-meter relay in garnering honorable mention nods.
