LODI, NJ - Garfield hung onto a late inning lead as Hasbrouck Heights dropped its final game in the Babe Ruth districts, falling 5-4 in Lodi Tuesday evening.
Garfield jumped out to an early 4-1 lead before the Aviators began to mount a comeback, scoring two runs in fourth as Kevin Campen drove in Tommy Capozzi and Nick Cuccio to cut the lead to 4-3.
Both teams scored a run in the fifth, before Garfield was able to shut the door on Heights, not allowing a run in the last two innings, despite having a runner in scoring position in the top of the seventh.
