TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy announced the latest COVID-19 figures from around the New Jersey during his Friday afternoon, where he again extended the state's public health emergency an additional 30 days, and continued to urge residents to cooperate with the growing team of contact tracers in New Jersey.

In New Jersey, there were 612 new cases reported, with seven new deaths. Statewide, there are 202,100 positive cases and 14,306 deaths, and 1,791 probable COVID-19 fatalities.  Murphy explained that 88 cases had been removed from the state's total as either duplicates or that person being from another state.

Murphy noted "that's 1200 cases in the past two days" saying that it's "clear evidence that we are not out of the woods."

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco announced that there are 22,375 positive cases in the county as of 12 pm Friday. According to Tedesco, Hasbrouck Heights has 207 cases, Wood-Ridge has 157 cases, and Teterboro has 7 cases. The county has recorded 1,801 deaths, per Tedesco.

According to Murphy, Bergen County has 22,251 positive cases, and followed by Essex (20,874), Hudson (20,540), Middlesex (19,158), Passaic (18,846) with 326 under investigation.  

As of 10 p.m.Thursday, there were 405 people hospitalized, 232 testing positive and 172 still under investigation. There were 75 patients in ICU and 32 on ventilators.
