With a 30 point lead heading into the fourth quarter, head coach Rob Faussette rested his starters the rest of the game.

“All I can say after coaching this group for the last five years, these boys just came to play in their final game as 8th graders, “said Faussette.   “Quite honestly, the coaches did not even need to be there.  The players were locked in.  It was a pleasure to watch it all come together.”

The Aviators advanced to the finals by defeating second seed Carlstadt, 53-38, in the semi-finals.  Faussette had 22 points, while Jaden Castro has 16 and Tsering added 13.   Carlstadt had defeated the Aviators in both of their regular season meetings.

The Aviators roster:  Jaden Castro, Ryan Connolly, Nick Cuccio, Antonio Dasilva, Steven Faussette, Peter Garifalos, Brandon Govea, Adrian Mercado, Justin Mucci, Kunga Tsiering, Niko Tsiolis, Kunga Tsogyal, Daniel Viola
