HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - The Hasbrouck Heights Council will have special meeting on Wednesday, May 27 at 6 pm.  The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the 2020 Budget.  The meeting is being held virtually (See below for dial-in information.)

The Budget was previously introduced at the May 19 Council meeting, and had three votes for, and two against, the introduction.  New Jersey Law requires a majority vote of the full council (four votes), so the measure did not pass.

N.J.S.A. 40A:4-4 governing the procedure for the adoption of municipal budgets provides that a budget shall be not only amended and adopted by a resolution passed by not less than a majority of the full membership of the Governing Body, but it shall also introduced upon such a vote as well.  Therefore, this resolution required an affirmative vote of four of your members for adoption.  However, the other resolutions on the agenda were properly adopted.
