HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -  The Hasbrouck Heights High School Boys' Freshman soccer team opened their season with a 1-1 tie against Nutley Thursday afternoon at Hitchcock Field in Hasbrouck Heights. 

After a scoreless first half, the Aviators struck first, as Tommy Capozzi sent a crossing pass from the left corner and Angelo Licini was there to put the ball into the net for the first goal of the season.  Nutley tied the game with 5 minutes remaining in the game with a shot from in front of the net.

Aviators goalkeeper Connor Friedel stopped 7 of 8 shots. Hasbrouck Heights had 8 shots on goal.

The freshmen Aviators return to the field Saturday at noon at Glen Rock High School.
