HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ --  While on winter break, members of Girl Scout Cadet Troop 94750 got to go behind the scenes of some of NBC’s high profile news and entertainment programs as part of work on their Marketing badge.

The girls took the studio tour of NBC, including the sets of Saturday Night Live, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. They saw the backstage production at the Today and the music department.

“The girls loved the whole tour,” said co-leader Cara Capasso-Murray. “They loved that at the end they got to try their hands at creating a broadcast reading off teleprompters and filming a small segment for themselves.”

The girls also got to meet newly-crowned Olympian Chris Mazdzer, 2018 Olympic silver medalist in singles luge at XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, the first American to medal in this event.

Another stop at the broadcast network was the office of Dana Reyngoudt, a mother from the troop, who is also the Vice President for Partner Marketing, Content Distribution for NBC Universal.  She spoke with the troop about what content distribution means in media today.  The interns at NBC gave them a presentation about SnapChat and marketing NBC stations.  As avid SnapChat users, girls gave their opinions about what's happening on SnapChat and learned how advertisers are using it.

The troop is led by Tara Eckert, Cara Capasso-Murray, and Danielle Kronke.  Members of the troop are Zoe Murray, Emily Eckert, Natalie Kronke, Grace Oettinger, Jenna O'Malley, Emma Reynolds, Ella Reyngoudt, Ava Brescia, Sofia Alvarez, Mia Gagliano, and Maria Manis, and are all seventh grade students at Hasbrouck Heights Middle School.
