“Our goal was to make it to the championship game,” Sue McGuire, manager, said.

The regular season ran from early June through mid-July, with the team having to play 10 games in nine days at the end of the season. Teams in the National Division included Oakland, Franklin Lakes, Westwood, Ridgewood, Highlands, Dumont, Saddle Brook, River Edge and Fair Lawn.

“We had a group of special, dedicated athletes,” said McGuire. “They were dialed in from the start.”

In the playoffs, Hasbrouck Heights beat Dumont in the quarter-finals and Emerson in the semi-finals to face Franklin Lakes in the championship game. Hasbrouck Heights capped the season with an 11-1 win in their first year in the league.

“We had a solid group of girls who came up through Little League and Rec together,” said McGuire. “We were lucky to have two good pitchers who worked hard in the offseason. We also had a dedicated group of parents.”

The roster of players included:  Sydney Davis, Keira DeMicco, Sophie Haines, Ashley Maita, Grace McGuire, Alexandra Monchino, Erin O’Hare, Kailen Peterson, Lilyanna Potts, Lexi Powers, MacKenzie Riordan, Giuliana Terranova, Haley Wixon. Coaches were Mike Davis, Jeff Haines, Eric Potts, Caitlin Riordan, Rob Riordan, and Tim McGuire.
