HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ – Here’s a round-up of stories that readers may have missed during the week. They cover a cross-section of topics including town council news, education, sports, regular columnists and What You Missed.

The courts were in the news this week as the Cinelli Iron & Metal Co.  case was back in federal court this week.  Joseph Cinelli Sr. pleaded not guilty in Federal court to wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. In Bergen County Court news Hasbrouck Heights resident Raymond Gonzalez was arrested and charged with theft by deception and forgery for stealing over $100,000 from a Bergen County condo association.

Hasbrouck Heights Police Department celebrated the promotion of three officers to sergeant at this week’s Town Council meeting.

Wood-Ridge resident Chuck Anania was honored by the New Jersey General Assembly for selfless effort in New Jersey and internationally. Through his company, Anania uses proceeds from every completed project to assist families in need. To date, Roof4Roof has helped more than 700 families in the United States and abroad.

Hasbrouck Heights School District named the new Supervisor of Special Services at its August meeting. An official introduction to parents will be held in late October. Lincoln School parents as well as local drivers need to learn the new street closures that go into effect when school opens in September.

Wood-Ridge and Hasbrouck Heights both held pre-season scrimmages this week, as the regular season opens in two weeks. Depken Field had a minor facelift over the weekend, which is part of its regular maintenance.

Fans of Game of Thrones and pro wrestling can follow two columnists that provide insight into those popular entertainment programs.
