HACKENSACK, NJ -- It was a cold Sunday morning when 25 members of the Hasbrouck Heights Music Parents Association, music students, family, friends, and alumni -- under the auspices of the HH Music Parents Association's Band Together for a Cause -- participated in the Meadowlands's Chamber of Commerce's Basket Brigade at the New Jersey Friendship House in Hackensack.

The annual event provides a complete Thanksgiving meal for local families in need. The organization raised $13,500 to provide Thanksgiving meals to 300 local families. Each meal is assembled by volunteers and anonymously delivered on the weekend before Thanksgiving.

The contents in each basket included a 10 lb. turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, a pumpkin pie, juice boxes, tangerines, brownie mix, Hershey kisses, fresh rolls and butter. Also included is a notethat reads: This comes to you from someone who cares about you. All we ask is that you take care of yourself well enough to be able to do this for someone else one day.

The HH Music Parents Association's  Band Together for a Cause plans to do 3 volunteer projects this year.
