WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - It'll be a two times the fun as Wood-Ridge plays host to two annual Halloween events on Sunday, October 27.

Festivities kick off with the Annual Ragamuffin Parade on Sunday, October 27. Children and families should line up at 11 a.m. and parade step off will be at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Valley Boulevard and Sussex Road. The parade route will end at Doyle Field on Highland Avenue. In case of inclement weather assemble in Doyle Gym at 11 a.m.

Tickets will be available to all Wood-Ridge boys and girls in Pre-K through sixth grade. Sign-up dates for tickets will be:

  • October 16 at the Doyle main entrance from 3 to 4 p.m.,
  • October 19 at the Civic Center from 10 to 11 a.m.,
  • October 21 at the Civic Center from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will not be available through the schools or teachers. Contact the Civic Center with questions at 201-939-7507.

Later on Sunday is the annual Trunk or Treat event at Catherine E. Doyle School, sponsored by the Wood-Ridge PTA, Wood-Ridge Policemen's Benevolent Association and the Mayor and Council. The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. 

There will be truck vendors, raffles, bouncy houses, goodies, and a DJ. Children can come in costume to trick or treat in a safe fun environment. 

Bracelets for entrance can be purchased in advance until October 24. After October 24, they can be purchased at the door. The cost per child/bracelet is $5. Make checks payable to WRPTA and sent into the school to the attention of  Lisa Biamonte-Crea/PTA Trunk or Treat event.  For questions, contact her via email at lisabiamonte@optonline.net.

Anyone interested in having their trunk in the event can reserve their spot. Since the community event is for the children. there is a $10 to reserve a trunk spot. You must supply your own candy. There will be prizes for the “The Best Decorated Vehicle.” Registration is a first come, first served basis.
