WOOD-RIDGE, NJ -- While parents and children are in the final weeks of summer break, school teachers are preparing lesson plans and classrooms for the upcoming school year.
TAPinto Hasbrouck Heights/Wood-Ridge/Teterboro is publishing a mini-series spotlighting area teachers who need a little extra help in making their classroom the best learning experience for their students. We will feature teachers who posted a classroom project on DonorsChoose.org, a website that hosts classroom projects, connecting “the public to public schools,” according to its website.

Andrea Sanzari is in her third year of teaching at Doyle School. She generally has about 20 students in her class each year, she said.
She has two projects listed on DonorsChoose.org. One project, titled Fun Fine Motor Skills, is to provide hands-on manipulatives, such as cubes, pegs, Play Doh, and matching cards, to help build fine motors skills.
“My greatest need to provide my students with the best education is providing them with a hands on approach using manipulatives,” said Sanzari.
The other project is to provide Hands-on Math games, including fishing poles and other “towers” that will reinforce addition and subtraction skills.
“In September, I plan on implementing math centers into my math block and these center games would be so useful in my kindergarten class,” she said. “In my literacy block, I have a fine motor center and the items listed in my product would go perfectly in it.”
“I am a very dedicated teacher who is always looking for new ideas to help the learning process in my classroom,” she said. “I spend hours planning lessons and centers, so my students are motivated and engaged.”
