HS Baseball: Ochoa Leads Hasbrouck Heights Past Leonia, 10-0

EDGEWATER, NJ -  Marcos Ochoa had a huge day on the mound and at bat, leading Hasbrouck Heights to a 10-0 win over Leonia in a NJIC Interdivisional game.  Ochoa allowed three hits, walked three and struck out two to pick up the complete game victory.

At the plate, Ochoa was just as potent, slugging two doubles and driving in three runs in support of his cause on the mound.  

The Aviators jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, taking advantage of three walks, a hit by pitch and three hits, along with a sacrifice fly in the first eight batters in jumping out in front.  The Aviators added two in the second to push the lead to 7-0.

Travis Culkin, moved into the cleanup spot, went 2-for-2 with a walk, two RBI and three runs scored to lead the Aviator attack.  Freshman designated hitter Dario Morales had had two hits and three RBI. Peter Neumann had two hits and two runs scored for the Aviators, while Hector Duran had two RBIs, as the Aviators took advantage of 10 hits and five walks from the Leonia pitching staff.

NOTES:  The Aviators improve to 2-1, and play Wood-Ridge Monday at 4 pm at Depken Field.

Long Beach Island Summer Shuttle No Longer A Free Ride

BRANT BEACH - The Long Beach Island Shuttle, an extremely popular service for visitors and residents of Long Beach Island, will have a fee for the first time beginning Memorial Day weekend.

Bateman Bill, “ Bijou’s Law”, to Require Training, Licensing for Pet Groomers

Carlo's Bake Shop Closes Westfield Location
