SECAUCUS, NJ -- Wood-Ridge's Andrew Marino and Hasbrouck Heights' Anthony Palmer and Jasiah Purdie were named to the NJIC All-Meadowlands First Team boys' basketball team it was announced Tuesday.
Palmer and Purdie finished 1-2 in scoring for the Aviators, who advanced to the Group 1, North 1 semi-finals before falling to New Milford. The Aviators finished 15-12 on the season. The junior backcourt was joined on the all-Meadowlands list by seniors Matt Moretto, who earned Second Team honors and James Klenk who was named as an Honorable Mention choice.
Marino was one of the hottest players in North Jersey late in the year, picking up the scoring pace after surpassing the 1,000 career point mark in January. The 6-4 senior averaged 19.6 points per game for the Blue Devils, who were ousted from the North 1, Group 1 playoffs by Bogota in the first round.
Fellow seniors Jack Bartek and Luke Vu-Nguyen were named to Second Team and Honorable rolls, respectively.
Former Aviator Nick Monahan, who transferred to Becton for his junior season, was named to the First Team.
