HS Boys Basketball Roundup: Palmer's 23 Leads Hasbrouck Heights Over North Arlington; Wood-Ridge Loses to Becton

NORTH ARLINGTON - Anthony Palmer scored 23 and Jasiah Purdie had 20 as Hasbrouck Heights defeated North Arlington, 73-52, in North Jersey Interscholastic Conference action Tuesday night in North Arlington.  The Aviators jumped out to a 27-16 first quarter lead and never looked back as they improved their record to 4-0 in the NJIC Meadowlands, and 5-3 overall.  North Arlington is 0-6 overall, and 0-3 in NJIC Meadowlands play.

The Aviators led 44-28 at the half, and 57-40 through three quarters, benefited from seven three pointers, including three from Palmer.

EAST RUTHERFORD - Nick Monahan scored 14 points as Becton overcame a 16-9 first quarter deficit to defeat Wood-Ridge, 64-58, at Becton Tuesday night in NJIC Meadowlands boys basketball action.  Jack Barteck had 14 for Wood-Ridge, while Andrew Marino added 13.  The Blue Devils drop to 2-3 in the NJIC, 2-5 overall, while Becton improves to 2-2 in the Meadowlands, and 5-5 overall.

Down seven at then end of one quarter, the Patriots tied the game going into halftime.  Wood-Ridge jumped back in front in the see-saw game at the end of the third to lead by two, but a 19-11 fourth quarter sealed the win for the Patriots.  Al Benameur had 17 points for Becton tbe the game's high scorer.

WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - The Blue Devils jumped out to a 34-6 first half lead in route oa 52-16 win over Becton.  Jenna Castellano and Amanda DiMase had 11 points a piece for the Blue Devils in the win.  Wood-Ridge improves to 2-2 and 3-5 with the win, while Becton falls to 0-4, 1-6.
