CRESSKILL, NJ - Rocco Minichiello dashed 60 yards on the first play of the game for Hasbrouck Heights, as the Aviators cruised by Cresskill, 26-6, in junior varsity football action in Cresskill Monday afternoon.
The Aviators offense moved the ball against the Cougars defense, scoring on two of its three first half possessions. The third possession the Aviators ran out time in the first half while driving for another score.
The second Aviator touchdown came on a pass from Steven Faussette to Adrian Mercado. Faussette was scrambling to his right when he was able to fire a pass into Mercado in the end zone for a three-yard scoring strike to make the score 12-0.
The Aviators scored on the opening possession of the second half, with a 12 yard run from Jake Diaz capping off a 10 play drive. Diaz scored on a reverse for the two-point conversion and a 20-0 lead.
The Cougars scored on their only possession of the second half, on an 11-yard touchdown pass, to cut the lead to 20-6.
The Aviators scored on the game’s final play, as Faussette scrambled 35 yards for a touchdown.
