PATERSON, NJ  -  Senior Kassie Ketcho had 14 points as Hasbrouck Heights defeated Paterson Charter 49-23 Thursday night in North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Meadowlands Division play. Aziza Whitaker scored 21 of Paterson Charter’s 23 points in the game.

The Aviators improved to 14-6 overall, 12-3 in the Meadowlands. Paterson Charter falls to 4-16, 3-13.

The Aviators jumped out to a 19-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Ketcho and Julie Koukoutsis had six apiece to pace the Aviators, with Whitaker scoring all six of the Lions points.

The Aviators led 27-12 at the half, with Ketcho leading the way with 10.

Long Beach Island Summer Shuttle No Longer A Free Ride

BRANT BEACH - The Long Beach Island Shuttle, an extremely popular service for visitors and residents of Long Beach Island, will have a fee for the first time beginning Memorial Day weekend. 

The Long Beach Township Board of Commissioners made the announcement at their meeting on Monday, April 9.

Bateman Bill, “ Bijou’s Law”, to Require Training, Licensing for Pet Groomers

TRENTON, NJ - State Sen. Christopher "Kip" Bateman (R-16) will introduce legislation to increase protections for family pets by requiring pet groomers to be properly trained and licensed following the deaths of three dogs in five months at different New Jersey pet salons. .

Carlo's Bake Shop Closes Westfield Location

WESTFIELD, NJ – Carlo’s Bake Shop, known from the TLC network show “Cake Boss,” closed its E. Broad Street storefront this week.

Passerby on the street noticed on Tuesday that the store was closed. A sign in the window reads that the bakery is relocating, but a new location was not specified.
