WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - Wood-Ridge took advantage of four Hasbrouck Heights errors as the Lady Blue Devils defeated the Lady Aviators 4-2 in NJIC Meadowlands action on Monday afternoon. 

Wood-Ridge scored in the first on a Hasbrouck Heights error following a walk and a single to open the game.  The Lady Aviators were able to turn a double play on the next play to escape further damage.

Wood-Ridge increased the lead to 2-0 in the second as Sofia Diaz doubled in Victoria Nieves and scored on Brianna Stellato’s double for a 3-0 lead.

The Lady Blue Devils fourth run of the game came via another miscue, following an Amanda DiMase double, the Hasbrouck Heights infield mishandled a grounder to make the score 4-0.

Hasbrouck Heights staged a rally in the sixth as Meghann Stellhorn doubled, and scored on a Wood-Ridge three base error in the outfield on a ball hit by Maria Manis. Manis then scored on a sacrifice fly by Kylie Daniels to cut the lead to 4-2.

But Wood-Ridge pitcher Brooke Biamonte was able to shut the door the rest of the way on the Lady Aviators. Biamonte picked up the win, allowing four hits and two runs, while striking out 10.  

Stellhorn allowed four hits and four runs, none earned.
