MOUNT OLIVE, NJ - Hasbrouck Heights wrestlers Drew Scuilla (138 pounds) and Hunter Freschi (170 pounds) competed over the weekend at the North 1 wrestling Super Regional wrestling tournament held at Mount Olive High School. Due to COVID restrictions, no spectators were allowed at the meet.

Scuilla competed Saturday afternoon, wrestled an extremely competitive match, dropping a 4-1 decision to Montville’s Justin Ciliottta, in a meeting of the 8 and 9 seeds.   Scuilla, a senior, ended his Hasbrouck Heights wrestling career with 76 career wins and three trips to the state tournament.

Freschi, wrestling as the 12 seed, defeated Lakeland’s William Barna by injury default in the opening round.  He then dropped a 16-0 technical fall to Bergen Catholic’s Justin Onello in the quarterfinals.

Freschi then dropped his match in the wrestleback round to Pequannock’s Jimmy Dolan by pinfall at 4:35 of the match

A junior, this was Freschi’s second trip to the regionals.
