HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- Iglesia Bautista Hispana will host its first-ever U.N. Day on Saturday, November 4, at 7 p.m. The church will celebrate the diversity within its congregation.
The event will be led by Pastor Ray and Deborah Cabrera. A total of ten countries will be represented: Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Equador and the United States. Each table will represent one country and feature decorations and items from that culture. Food from each country will be served, and the youth will wear traditional outfits from each country.
"We want to celebrate and know where we come from, who we are," said Deborah Cabrera. "We want the young people to know about their culture."
Iglesia Bautista Hispana is located at 31 Passaic Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. For more information on the evening, contact 973-922-3162.
