LYNDHURST, NJ -  Wood-Ridge/Moonachie Little League 10U team's season came to conclusion Wednesday with an 14-1 defeat at the hands of Englewood Cliffs in the Section 2 Tournament in Lyndhurst.   

Englewood Cliffs jumped out to a 2-0 early lead, and extended the lead the 7-0 in the second.  Englewood Cliffs put the game away in the fourth, scoring 7 runs for a 14-0 lead after three and a half innings.  Kameron Crews' sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth, scored Brandon DiMascio with Wood-Ridge’s only run of the game.

"A bittersweet ending to our season," said Ray Crews, manager. "We won our District, which was our number one goal from the beginning of the season. We lost to two very sound baseball teams which gives us something to strive towards."

"Time to play wiffle ball, ride bikes, and be a kid for the District 5 Champs," he said.

Englewood Cliffs will play the loser of the Elmora vs Livingston game from late Wednesday night in an Elimination Game,. The winner of Elmora vs Livingston will play the winner of he Englewood Cliffs vs (loser of Elmora/Livington) game in the finals of the double elimination tournament.
