TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy announced the latest COVID-19 figures from around the New Jersey during his Monday press conference, where he also announced the cap on outdoor gatherings, delay in youth and adult indoor sports, and previewed guidance on Santa visits, caroling and other holiday events.
There were 3,199 new cases reported, with 15 new deaths. Statewide, there are now 337,304 positive cases and 15,164 deaths, and 1,829 probable COVID-19 fatalities.
According to Murphy, Essex County has 35,358 positive cases, and followed by Bergen (34,871), Hudson (31,871), Middlesex (30,562), Passaic (30,180), with 886 under investigation.
Two counties reported over 300 new cases, Passaic (336), and Essex (312.) Six counties reported over 200 new cases, Camden (295), Bergen (279), Middlesex (278), Hudson (144), Ocean (242), and Monmouth (209.) Four counties had over 100 new cases, Union (193), Burlington (139), Morris (134), and Gloucester (119.)
As of 10 p.m. Sunday, there were 2,961 people hospitalized, 575 patients in ICU and 332 on ventilators.
