HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - A day after the Hasbrouck Heights Boys Cross Country team finished 18th in the Meet of Champions, Hasbrouck Heights head coach Mike Ryan reflected on the season.
"We were actually sitting 18th based on team time," Ryan stated. "The course was in great shape. It didn't snow in Holmdel. I was really happy. We ran our fastest race as a team ever on the Holmdel course. We also beat Haddon Township which beat us the week before at Groups, so I told my kids we finished the season as the best Group 1 school in New Jersey."
"Both Nick Bua and freshman Evan Morrow ran their best times on the course," Ryan continued "The rest of the team were very close to their best times."
"I was extremely happy for the team especially for senior Jeremy Bailey," Ryan stated. "I'm so happy he got to experience running at State Meet of Champions."
"This was a phenomenal season," Ryan said. "I'm sad the ride is over, but with eight of our top nine boys returning, we are hoping to make a return trip next year."
