NEW YORK, NY -  Construction delays will continue this weekend at the areas bridges and tunnels.  See below for details,

Bayonne Bridge:

  •   The bridge will be closed from 11:59 p.m. tonight, August 3, through 8 a.m. Saturday, August 4, for ongoing construction work.
  •  The bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday nights through Thursday nights, August 6-9, to accommodate ongoing construction work.  The overnight closures will be scheduled consistently Monday through Thursday nights through the end of this summer. Additional overnight closings will be scheduled through the end of construction as needed.

 

Holland Tunnel:

  • One westbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during overnight hours from Sunday, August 5, through Thursday, August 9, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning.  The closings are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.
  • One eastbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during overnight hours from Sunday, August 5, through Thursday, August 9, from 11 p.m. each night through 5 a.m. the following morning.  The closings are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.
  • The Canal Street east approach to the tunnel will be closed on Saturday, August 4, from 6 a.m. through 10 a.m. for maintenance.  Travelers can use the Varick Street approach to access the Holland Tunnel to New Jersey during the closings. 

George Washington Bridge:

  • The ramp connecting the eastbound upper level of the George Washington Bridge to West 178th Street in Manhattan is closed for up to 12 months for deck replacement.  Passenger cars seeking access from the bridge to local streets in Manhattan should take Exit 1 towards Route 9/Henry Hudson Parkway and follow detour signs to West 181stStreet in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.  Trucks over 13 feet, 6 inches in height will not be permitted to use the bridge during the duration of the project.  Trucks under that height seeking access to local streets should take Exit 2 to Amsterdam Avenue.
  • Two lanes on the bridge’s upper level eastbound side will be closed from 10 p.m. tonight, August 3, through 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, and from 10 p.m. Saturday, August 4, through 10 a.m. Sunday, August 5.
  • Two lanes on the eastbound Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed from 12:30 a.m. through 5 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, and from 12:30 a.m. through 5 a.m. Sunday, August 5,
  • Three lanes on the bridge’s upper level westbound side will be closed from 10 p.m. tonight, August 3, through 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4.
  • One lane on the westbound Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, August 4, and from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday, August 5.
