HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- Children and their parents could be seen along the Boulevard on Thursday afternoon in the annual Halloween Window Painting Contest in Hasbrouck Heights. The event was re-scheduled due to Wednesday's heavy rainstorm.

Open to third, fourth and fifth graders from Lincoln School, Euclid School and Corpus Christi School. the students painted the town with Halloween-themed pictures from scary to humorous on the windows of businesses along the Boulevard and Williams Avenue. Some popular depictions were Frankenstein, happy pumpkins, ghosts, and skeletons. There were even a few nods to Pennywise and the Grady sisters from "The Shining." Several students has pre-planned their designs in sketch books.

The paintings will be judged in one of three categories: Humor, Content, and Composition.
