HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ – Another week, another championship.   

Here’s a review of the stories that occurred last week, in case you missed one.  They cover a numerous topics including town and school news, community events, the TAPinto Athlete of the Week, food, and lots of sports.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warning to residents about the rise in car thefts throughout the county and provided tips on how to keep cars safe. The Hasbrouck Heights Police Department put down their razors to raise funds and awareness of men’s health issues during No Shave Movember. The Hasbrouck Heights Town Council passed several ordinances and resolutions in their regularly-scheduled meeting.

In the schools, the staff and advisor of Hasbrouck Height’s Pilot’s Log was honored as one of the top 10 school newspapers. The Wood-Ridge Board of Education recognized excellence in the classroom and in sports. Lincoln School staff and teachers creatively raised money for No Shave Movember. Parents met with the Hasbrouck Heights new Supervisor of Special Education.

Wood-Ridge residents decorated a Christmas tree as part of the Bergen County winter wonderland. The Hasbrouck Heights Men’s Association prepared for a visit from Santa. The Hasbrouck Heights Library released its list of December special events for children, teens and adults.

In Sports we had a special report each day leading up to Hasbrouck Heights second consecutive appearance in the NJSIAA football championships. And if you haven’t heard yet...the Aviators beat Pompton Lakes Saturday night at Kean. The TAPinto Athlete of the Week was shared by two Wood-Ridge cheerleaders. The Hasbrouck Heights boys U12 soccer team won the SBSL championship. Go to the Sports home page for coverage.
