PATERSON, NJ – U.S. Representative. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) announced Wednesday a $157,000 supplemental Airport Improvement Fund grant to Teterboro Airport, according to a press release from Pascrell's office. The funding was made available in the CARES “Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security“ Act, as part of a $10 Billion fund of which $160 Million of which will go to New Jersey airports, that Pascrell supported in the House of Representatives last month.
According to the release, the federal award will go toward maintaining operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Teterboro is one of 24 airports across New Jersey to receive federal funds. The top airports in the state to receive monies were Newark Liberty, Atlantic City International, and Trenton Mercer.
“The coronavirus pandemic and the changes to the way we travel have damaged our economy. This modest grant for Teterboro Airport can help the facility, its workforce, and associated businesses, maintain operations,” said Rep. Pascrell. “Whether at home in quarantine, in the hospital with symptoms, or on the frontlines combatting this virus, the American people need Congress now more than ever. I supported the CARES Act because it would provide immediate relief and meet the vast needs across our economy in the face of this crisis."
