HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ -- Santa Claus makes an early stop in Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday afternoon at the Hasbrouck Heights Men's Association Christmas Tree Sale located on the corner of Franklin and Terrace Avenues. Santa will be available between 2 and 4 p.m. for family photos with a backdrop of Christmas trees and inflatables.
The Men's Association continues a 30-plus year tradition of selling trees and tree stands to raise money for college scholarships of graduating heights Seniors. The group began preparing weeks ago for the annual sale. The HHMA also makes donations to families in need, families going through difficult times and other good causes around town.
This year the group is holding a Senior Citizen Christmas Tree Raffle. Entrants must be a Hasbrouck Heights resident, 65 and older. Winner need not be present at the drawing. HHMA members will deliver and set up a 5’-6’ tree with a stand and will also remove tree and stand after the holidays are over. HHMA members are not eligible for this raffle. The drawing will be held Saturday December 2, at 2:00 p.m.
In addition, this holiday season the Men's Association is providing a Thanksgiving meal for two families in need from Hasbrouck Heights. And they will also be adopting a family that could use some help by providing wrapped Christmas presents for the children.
The HHMA is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that raises money for college scholarships for graduating seniors, who are looking to further their education. This past June they awarded 15 $750 scholarships at the annual ceremony. The annual Christmas tree sale is one of the main fundraisers.Others include a spring golf outing in May and assistance with the Hasbrouck Heights 5K race. The tree sale is open daily from 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. Monday through Friday and 10:00 A.M. - 10:00 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday.
