TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy announced the latest COVID-19 figures from around the state during his Wednesday afternoon press conference, where he addressed the re-opening of schools while acknowledging the top three counties for an increase in cases.

In New Jersey, there were 722 new cases reported, with nine new deaths. Statewide, there are 205,275 positive cases and 14,335 deaths, and 1,787 probable COVID-19 fatalities, a number which Murphy noted had decreased.

According to Murphy, Bergen County has 22,510 positive cases, and followed by Essex (21,121), Hudson (20,732), Middlesex (19,604), Passaic (19,113) with 329 under investigation.

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, there were 479 people hospitalized, 271 testing positive and 208 still under investigation. There were 108 patients in ICU and 39 on ventilators.
