Wood-Ridge Council Honors Resident For Academic Achievement

WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - At Tuesday’s Borough of Wood-Ridge Council meeting, Council President Ezio Altamura presented Wood-Ridge resident Alexa Perrucci a proclamation acknowledging her academic accomplishments.

Just weeks ago she graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration with Suma Cum Laude honors and was a Merrill Presidential Scholar, which signifies that she is in the top one percent of all college graduates.  She was a Cornell Tradition Fellow, and and as the number one student in her class, served as her school’s Graduation Marshall.

She was joined during the presentation by John Branda, a teacher at the Bergen Academies and her parents.

Wood-Ridge also passed a bond ordinance to authorize the acquisition of new additional or replacement equipment and machinery and a new automotive vehicles.  

There were two ordinances on first reading on the agenda.  The first, was an ordinance accepting the transfer of title of real property for recreational purposes of a block of land on Marshall Lane from Fleet Wood-Ridge, LLC.   The property, which is approximately 90 feet by 120 feet, and is projected to be used as a playground.

The second would fix the salary, wages, and compensation of he officers and employees of the Borough of Wood-Ridge. Both ordinances passed unanimously.

Resolutions adopted included the appointment of Kellie Romero as Tax Collector, and Tax Searcher, and the appointment of Sharron Curran as Deputy Tax Collector  Romero’s term as Tax Searcher is from June 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018, while Curran as Deputy Tax Collector from June 1, 2018 to May 30, 2019.

Also hired was Nicholas Riccio as a full-time DPW employee, and the following as summer seasonal workers:  Anthony Parisi, Christian Autino, Michael Donato, Zach Garvin, Jake Trotter, Greg Carmona, Angelo D’Amico, Chris Affuso, Andrew Marino, Anthony Seiga, Stephen Drotos, Matt Roncaioli, Jon Whaley, Andrew Tomat, Eric Drotos, Kevin Cribben and Dennis Kronyak III.
