WOOD-RIDGE, NJ --  It was sunny fall day for the ninth annual Wood-Ridge Fire Department Fire Truck rides on Sunday, October 13.

Children were treated to donuts and apple cider, watched a short film on fire prevention and took a ride around town in one of the fire trucks. They also received WRFD fire hats and and goody bags with safety information. The Bergen County Fire Prevention trailer was also on site for children to experience a smoke-filled environment, as part of Fire Prevention Week.

The event was started by Councilman Ezio Altamura, who based the event on fire truck rides he enjoyed as a child growing up in Fair Lawn. .
