WOOD-RIDGE, NJ -- The Wood-Ridge Fire Department Touch-a-Truck event turned into a welcomed respite from the stifling heat as the fire truck gently sprayed water to the residents and families who attended the Sunday event.

The event was open to the public to meet with members of the volunteer fire department. Children explored the fire truck, ambulance, and equipment. Complementary food, including hot dogs, sandwiches and drinks, was served.

The event was sponsored by Wesmont Wines and Market Fresh Supermarket - both which opened for business in the complex in the past seven months.
