WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - Need a design for your business, but not sure where to get it done?
Steve Feuss' iDesign Creative Services, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in June, might be the shop you are looking for.
In those 10 years, Feuss, who started his company out of a spare bedroom, has seen his business move a few times. From the spare bedroom to Pine Brook, then to Hackensack, before moving to their current location on Hackensack Street in Wood-Ridge.
Professionally, he has grown as well, from running a print shop for another company to now servicing companies not only in the surrounding communities, but throughout the country. He used that experience running someone's else shop to his own benefit, starting his own shop.
“I was able to use that as a stepping stone and start my own business,” said Feuss.
It was good timing, though, as his prior employer closed six months after he left. Some of those customers followed him, he said.
The company offers offset and digital printing services, website development, screen printing and embroidery.
“Anything you can put a logo on, we can do it,” he said.
Using his degree in Graphic Design from County College of Morris, he’ll even design logos for customers.
“We have customers come in all the time and say, ‘I need a logo but have no idea what I want,’” he said.
Feuss, who lives in Hasbrouck Heights with his wife and daughter, works with customers in the community, including youth sports programs from East Rutherford, New Milford, Lodi, and the Wood-Ridge/Moonachie Little League He also does printing of the Hasbrouck Heights borough quarterly newsletter, and projects for the Franklin Lakes PBA, Wood-Ridge Fire Department, and Carlstadt Police Department.
He’s also worked with customers from across the country, with projects from California, Washington, Texas, and Florida. Feuss said he gets customers through “word of mouth and (online) reviews."
Over the past ten years, Feuss had expanded his products and services, and “reinvested back in the business.” He said they bought screen printing and embroidery machines earlier this year. The 16-needle embroidery machine is able to digitize a logo and create a stitch pattern. The whole program is run by computer.
What is Feuss most proud of?
“That we started in a recession, at the peak of the recession,” he said. “And we were able to grow more than I ever thought I was going to, at least not in ten years.”
What are his plans for the future?
“Ideally, I’d like to open another location by 2020,” he said. “That’s the goal.”
iDesign Creative Services is located at 265 Hackensack Street, Wood-Ridge, NJ.
